What is a MERV rating?
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It basically is a measure of how effective your air filter is. MERV ratings can range from 1-16. The higher the rating, the smaller the particles your air filter will be able to clean.
Shouldn't I just use the highest MERV rating if I want the cleanest air?
Higher MERV ratings remove more harmful contaminants from your home, but they can also not work well with your HVAC system. Stronger MERV ratings do catch more particles due to their more dense nature, but this also can cause your system to work harder to circulate air. In some cases, your system may be unable to circulate air through certain filters. This will actually reduce the indoor air quality in your home.
How often should I change my filter?

What brands can your filters replace?
Filter Wiz filters can replace all major filter brands including Flanders, General Aire, Aprilaire and more.
What to do if my filter arrived damaged?
Please contact us and send us a photo of your damaged filter and we will send you a replacement.
Do I have to order with a recurring delivery or can I order once?
With Filter Wiz you can order one time only or set up a recurring delivery that can be cancelled anytime up to 48 hours before your next delivery.
Can I update my next automated delivery date?
Yes, just login to your account by going to filterwiz.com and clicking on the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner. Then click on "manage subscription" and you can edit your next delivery date or subscription preferences for all future delivery dates. This is especially helpful if you'd like your orders to come on a specific date each month - i.e. the 1st or the 15th.
Will I get a reminder that a delivery is coming?
Yes, you will receive an email 3 days before your next order is scheduled to ship out. At that time you can log in to your account and cancel the order or update the date.
What if I order the wrong filter size?
Contact us and we can ship you the correct size for a $5 fee to cover the shipping costs of the replacement. Donate or give away the incorrect filter.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Simply log in to the account you created during your first order and click on "manage subscriptions." You can also see your order history from the account page. Filter Wiz is not responsible for any deliveries that were not cancelled within the appropriate timeline. We can work with you to make sure you do not receive any future deliveries.
